Psychological safety has been closely linked to team and organizational effectiveness, employee motivation, creativity and innovation. The term was first coined by Amy Edmondson at Harvard after years of research, and her findings have since been validated by Google and other companies. Edmondson, other academics and specialists such as Timothy Clary have written about how psychological safety enables better decision making, problem-solving and cultivating a learning organization.
This interactive session is designed for OD professionals, coaches and facilitators to explore psychological safety. The session will engage those familiar with psychological safety as well as practitioners seeking to learn something new. In this workshop, you will:
Receive an introduction (or re-introduction) to the theory
Learn how to be aware of the signs that indicate psychological safety or lack thereof
Explore how to approach team effectiveness from this lens, including how to approach leaders and how to engage team members.
