How can we apply a coaching approach to support a change initiative?
In the fall of 2018, the International Coaching Federation and the Human Capital Institute released a study on the role of coaching in organizational change management. Their findings have resulted in a groundswell of change in both the coaching and change management professions. In this session, Brian Gorman will provide a brief overview of the findings of the 2018 study and what has happened since. He will also share a case study of applying coaching to a culture change initiative. Participants will explore ways in which they can bring a coach approach to their own roles in change and the impact that doing so will have.

Brian Gorman is an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC). As Vice President for Program Development at Quantuvos, he serves as an individual and group coach, and oversees the development of group coaching curricula. During his tenure as Managing Editor for Change Management Review, Brian co-created and co-delivered Coaching Skills and Consulting Skills for Change Management Practitioners certificate programs. Prior to becoming a coach, he spent decades as an external change management consultant. He is the author of two dozen articles for Forbes Coaches Council as well as “The Hero and the Sherpa,” the opening chapter of Springer’s 2023 Personal, Educational and Organizational Transformation: Leading During Times of Metacrisis.
